Conifer Energy Inc. is a new entrant to the Canadian energy marketplace supported by senior industry professionals and an exemplary operations staff. At inception, our production exceeds 9,000 BOE/D and produces our energy from the best reservoirs in the province of Alberta not only for recovery, but also for their future carbon capture, utilization, and storage potential.



This Instrument Technician opening is a permanent full-time position, and preference will be given to those candidates who reside in the Whitecourt/Swan Hills area (within 100 kms of the facility or be willing to relocate).



Responsibilities



Repair and troubleshoot instrumentation and control equipment on new or existing oil and gas process equipment and processes Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments Install process control instrumentation including transmitters, controllers, analyzers and control valves Mange the maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and installation of Electric Heat Trace (EHT) and Heat Trace Controllers Day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting and repair and process control equipment, heat trace, electric actuated valves and other associated equipment DCS programming and troubleshooting (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and completion of test and maintenance reports Ensure activities are incompliance with all company and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience as a qualified instrumentation tradesperson in an energy or heavy industrial environment Knowledge and experience troubleshooting equipment and systems: Allen Bradley, Bristol, Flo boss, SCADA Pack RTUs as well as utilizing multimeters, Loop calibrators, and other related test equipment Industrial Network experience (Device Net, DH+, Ethernet, and Modbus) Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal regulations/codes Possess high degree of initiative, creativity, communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety requirements Provide 24 hour on-call support on a rotating basis
