This position is based out of our Judy Creek Production Complex facility with a 40/60 split, office/field-based work. The technologist works with our production & reservoir engineers and operations staff to meet and exceed asset production targets.
This is a permanent full-time position, and preference will be given to those candidates who reside in the Whitecourt/Swan Hills area (within 100 kms of the facility or be willing to relocate).
Responsibilities
Analyze and troubleshoot well and artificial lift performance on a continual basis for repair and/or optimization potential including assisting in the design and modeling of various types of artificial equipment (ESP, sucker rod pumping systems, etc.)
Review oil and gas, water injection volumes to meet area production targets, reservoir water management, working closely with operations and engineering groups to maintain uptime performance
Optimize oil well pumping performance by organizing and managing well fluid level program and dyno data across all assets
Assist operations and engineering teams with annual AER well compliance monitoring and reporting including D13 suspensions and packer isolation testing
Manage artificial lift stewardship reports and well performance run time tracking
Work with the well servicing coordinator and field operations to ensure well repair sites are ready and fit for well work prior to moving servicing equipment to site
Perform other technical duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications
A minimum of five years oil and gas experience, with preference given to individuals with well operating and/or well servicing experience
Technologist diploma with a strong mechanical and technical aptitude preferred
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clear three-year driver's abstract
Fit for work including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting/moving various items, walking distances, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, oil and gas software OFM & Avocet, Cartofact
Demonstrate a high level of communication skills, both verbal and written
Able to analyze data, make appropriate recommendations and communicate analysis results clearly to others
Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental principles
