Overview

Kootenay Columbia College (KCC) is seeking a talented and innovative Web Design & Development Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in web development with a passion for teaching and mentoring students. You will deliver engaging instruction, guide students through practical projects, and help them build the skills needed to create responsive, user-friendly, and accessible web solutions.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lectures and practical demonstrations for students in Web Design & Development. Collaborate with the academic team to design and update curriculum in line with regulatory and professional standards. Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and student support in a professional and inclusive manner. Evaluate student performance, grade assignments, and provide constructive feedback. Stay updated with advancements in Web Design and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching. Pursue professional development to enhance teaching techniques and subject matter expertise. Collaborate with faculty members, participate in meetings, and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.

Requirements

Must have relevant education (diploma, degree, or certificate) in Web Design, Web Development, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated Minimum 2 years of professional experience in web design and development (including front-end and back-end technologies). Practical experience with industry-standard tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, CMS platforms like WordPress/Drupal, design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.). Preferred: prior experience instructing or mentoring in a post-secondary or professional training setting. Ability to translate technical knowledge into teachable content suitable for adult learners. Self-directed, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to teach both theoretical concepts and practical skills in web development.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
