$8,196.30 per assigned course consisting of three workload hours. The rate for any courses requiring fewer or greater hours shall be prorated based on this standard.

Duties:

The Department of Studies in Women and Gender is seeking a sessional instructor to teach one section of SWAG 103 (Care of Self: Feminism and Wellbeing) in the Spring 2026 semester. The calendar description reads: while studying the critical relationship forged between feminist activism and self-care, students will explore various strategies for self-care, self-compassion, and harm reduction.



This course is fully online asynchronous, however the successful candidate must reside in BC.



Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Required Qualifications:

PhD or ABD in a related discipline OR a Master's level Counselling credential from an appropriately accredited institution. Evidence of an interest in feminism or gender studies within educational background or professional practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent post-secondary teaching or student support experience. Experience with learning management systems (e.g., D2L, Canvas, Blackboard).
