Job Summary
The primary focus of this position is to provide general research-oriented support for the Sexual Health And genito-Pelvic pain knowledge Empowerment Hub (SHAPE): a pan-Canadian initiative dedicated to addressing barriers in accessing information and treatment for sexual difficulties and genito-pelvic pain in women and gender-diverse people.
The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator will assist with various research activities including planning, coordination and communication of the SHAPE Hub.
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the research carried out in the UBC Sexual Health Research Lab, this individual must understand and exemplify the ethics of confidentiality, sensitivity, and respect when communicating with all partners and participants.



Organizational Status

The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator reports to the Principal Investigator and will work closely with the Knowledge Mobilization Manager. The incumbent will interact directly with other members of the SHAPE Hub including trainees, co-investigators, early career researchers, volunteers, patient partners and healthcare providers. This position will be based at the Diamond Health Care Centre at Vancouver General Hospital.



Work PerformedAssist with the data collection from patient partners and healthcare providers Assist with research grant application processes, including interpretation of application guides and FAQs Ensures accurate and detailed records related to research grants and contracts are maintained Assist with the distribution of the Hub's communications materials including the monthly newsletter and updating the SHAPE Hub website Participates in research team meetings and follow up on action items Arranges travel for Hub meetings Assist in preparation of research presentations and posters Other related duties as required


Consequence of Error/Judgement

The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator is required to conduct all research activities in an ethical manner and with adherence to the Tri-Council Policy Statement concerning Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. Any procedures or data recorded as part of this research must be accurate and must accurately reflect the work performed. Strict confidentiality of all study participants must be adhered to.



Supervision Received

The incumbent will be supervised by the PI and the Knowledge Mobilization Manager as required. The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator will work independently with regular check-ins with the PI and Knowledge Mobilization Manager.



Supervision Given

The incumbent does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.



Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred QualificationsUndergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Experience in grants coordination, project management, or program administration. Experience creating newsletters and graphics Ability to listen actively and attentively, and obtain clarification as required. Ability to learn new software programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure that time-sensitive duties are completed in priority * Experience with digital and social advertising platforms
