This role involves delivering both theory and practical instruction, administering quizzes and exams, evaluating student progress, and ensuring compliance with CMTO and CMTCA standards. The instructor will play a key role in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Duties
Deliver classroom instruction on massage theory, anatomy, physiology, pathology, ethics, and professional standards.
Demonstrate and supervise practical techniques, including Swedish massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic assessments.
Oversee student clinic sessions, providing hands-on guidance and ensuring client safety and care standards are met.
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum and regulatory requirements.
Administer and grade quizzes, exams, and practical evaluations to monitor student competence.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and progress reports in accordance with college policies.
Mentor students, offering constructive feedback and supporting their academic and clinical growth.
Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and accreditation processes to uphold program quality.
Stay current with industry trends, CMTO regulations, and best practices to enhance instructional delivery.
Uphold all health, safety, and infection control standards to create a safe environment for students, clients, and staff.
Qualifications

Current registration in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and a wide range of massage therapy techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and guide students.
Experience in teaching or mentoring is preferred; willingness to develop instructional skills is essential.
Excellent organizational abilities to manage lesson plans, grading, and compliance documentation.
Proficiency with basic computer applications and learning management systems.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to CMTO and CMTCA standards.
Flexibility to work varied hours as required, including evenings or weekends.
