This Instructor - Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role will support the Emergency Mental Health Teams (EMHT) at both the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH). Working in collaboration with the Recovery Alberta Mental Health and EMHT Managers (s) at RAH, and UAH, the CNE uses principles of adult learning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the educational and development needs of staff for the Mental Health and Addiction program. The CNE also facilitates, coordinates and supports the implementation of educational initiatives for orientation, mandatory education, and in-service/continuing education for the site. Other duties include promoting clinical competence of staff through changes in policy, procedures, protocols, and technology. The successful candidate will focus on the needs of the specific department within Adult Mental Health, while keeping the needs of the program, hospitals and the zone in view. The CNE will be responsible for creating and revising documents, networking with colleagues both within and outside the Edmonton area. The CNE will work effectively in committees with the program, hospitals and region. The CNE in this role will work in conjunction with other educators within the mental health and addictions program to provide educator support to all staff within our program. This will include the inpatient mental health teams, consultation liaison team, and neuromodulation teams across both sites. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
