This is an exciting opportunity to provide education to the multidisciplinary team at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre (Long Term Care setting). Come and join the passionate and diverse team at the Willow Creek in Claresholm, Alberta. Nestled in the Porcupine Hills, Claresholm is close to many outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and fishing. Under the management of the Site Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator (instructor) works as the educator and as a leader within the care setting, collaborating on the delivery of care and education needs to meet the needs of patients/clients. The Clinical Nurse Educator uses adult-learning teaching strategies to effectively support the educational needs of the facility, including Health Care Aides, LPNs, RNs, as well as other disciplines. The Clinical Nurse Educator also supervises staff and schedules orientation as necessary, and collaborates with families and residents. As one of the leaders of the front-line team, you will ensure the care needs of residents are being met in a comprehensive and timely manner. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable to the public for his/her/their practice, according to the Standards defined by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA, 2023). As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in the continuing care setting. Heart and Stroke BLS Certification (active). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families in stressful situations is necessary. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills within a team setting. Maintains a standard of high-quality care, self-directed and motivated. Demonstrates a caring attitude towards patients and families, ability to relate to clients in a caring manner with respect and dignity. Ability to work collaboratively with team members is essential. Physical ability to assist with lifting, turning, and transferring adult patients essential. Ability to utilize safe transferring and lifting equipment (It's Your Move) is necessary. Effective verbal and written communication required. Must be able to handle the physical demands of the position. Preferred Qualifications:
Charge Nurse experience. Palliative care training. Active Phlebotomy certification. Active Immunization certification. Active It's Your Move certification. Active certification to teach NVCI. Active certification to teach BLS (Heart & Stroke). Active certification to complete FIT testing. Active certification to teach It's Your Move.
