Our client has partnered with Suzanne Noesgaard, Engineering and Technical Recruitment Consultant, to lead their next search for an Architectural Technology Instructor based in Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities:
  • To instruct courses in the Architectural Technologies diploma program
  • Provide instruction to students enrolled in Architectural Technologies
  • Design and implement a student-centred learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning
  • Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed
  • Use digital tools proficiently, including typical architectural software and general office applications
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students
  • Be responsive to the accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners
  • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with the employer and educational requirements
  • Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures
  • Attend program and school meetings
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Architecture through an accredited program with the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB), or qualify as a Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA
  • Registered Architect with the Saskatchewan Architect's Association, or eligible to register
  • Five years of recent, relevant experience
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective instructional ability
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of drafting software, graphic or visualization software, the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
  • Ability to work as a team member in an ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity
