The Installation Estimator works hand-in-hand with the Direct Sales team and other internal departments to estimate, coordinate, and execute all on-site compressed air equipment and piping installations - from initial customer contact through to project completion - including confirmation of the project scope of supply, material procurement, planning and scheduling, client communication, overseeing, documenting the progress of all projects project.

Ideal candidates will possess professional customer service and communication skills, effective time management and organizational skills, professional estimating and quoting skills, and the ability to forge strong relationships with internal coworkers and outside vendors.

Requirements

  • Perform customer site visits with Wiseworth personnel and outside vendors to review and assess the scope of supply for compressed air equipment and piping installations.
  • Gather all internal and external costing information including installation parts and materials, tools and equipment, travel and labor, and other associated project requirements such as electrical, ducting and ventilation, moving and rigging, etc.
  • Price and cost installation projects consistently utilizing Wiseworth's established policies.
  • Prepare accurate, high quality, installation proposals in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Direct Sales team with technical clarifications, bid strategies, and optimizing the project scope of supply to help secure orders.
  • Order all required installation parts and materials, tools, equipment, as required to meet the project schedule.
  • Work closely with installers, sub-contractors, and material handlers.
  • Work closely with vendors regarding material shipments.
  • Track and verify on-time delivery off all materials needed to complete installations.
  • Coordinate and schedule Wiseworth installation technicians and subcontracted vendors to ensure on-time installation completion for each installation job. This includes initial installation meetings and each return trip thereafter.
  • Create job packets with all pertinent installation job details and required forms and provide to Installers prior to job start.
  • Update all pertinent information so that all stakeholders are informed of installation progress from the time of booking to completion.
  • Ensure that each installation project meets Wiseworth's workplace health and safety program standards and guidelines.
  • Process all necessary paperwork to ensure timely closeout of the installation. This requires solid communication with multiple internal departments.
  • Facilitate the closing of each installation job either directly or through follow-up with various other departments.
  • Communicate with customers, both internal and external, via telephone, email, or internal program.
  • Promptly assist internal and external personnel and customers to address any change order requests or installation concerns.
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures with continuously changing working environments.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites located in Vancouver Lower Mainland, Thompson Okanagan, and various regions of British Columbia.
  • Participate in regular opportunities for self-learning and continuing education including Ingersoll Rand product training, training webinars, internal cross training, seminars, and/or related post secondary courses.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma mandatory and/or related post-secondary and/or industry training.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude are key qualifications for this position.
  • Related pipefitting and/or sprinkler fitting experience is preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional business manner.
  • Assertive, results-driven, self-starter with the ability to manage time and priorities in order to meet specific goals and objectives.
  • Highly developed and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with experience preparing technical sales quotations/proposals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assess customer needs, analyze and interpret technical information, and recommend technical solutions.
  • Tech savvy. Work proficiently with PC's, laptops or tablet style computers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend building, construction, piping system drawings.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software, AutoCAD, Solidworks and/or associated drawing programs.

  • Able to work effectively both within a team environment and independently.
  • Tactful and assertive when dealing with customers, sales personnel, supervisors, engineers, and other internal staff.
  • Able to provide consistent, high quality work, under pressure situations and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • This position is moderately physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, driving a vehicle, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, sitting at a desk for extended periods, working with computers,
  • Employees may regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs., and rarely lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
  • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to varying weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
  • Valid Driver's License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI's in past five years. Driver's abstract required.
  • No criminal record.
  • Valid Canadian passport with the ability to travel across Canada and the United States.
  • Wiseworth Canada is an alcohol and drug free workplace.
  • Subject to human rights considerations, an immunization record showing you have received the COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to the start of employment. In the event you have only received one vaccination, we require proof that your second vaccination has been received.
