Role Summary:
In this role you will perform measurements, documented inspections in the verification of conformance of pump parts to applicable drawings, procedures, specifications and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The QC Inspector is responsible for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to customer's and Flowserve's specifications and international standards. Besides, the QC Inspector is responsible for defining, advising and controlling all project required QC documents. The QC Inspector reports directly to the QC Supervisor/Manager. Responsibilities include:
Documenting dimensional and visual inspections to the drawing or applicable procedures
Documenting non-conforming material utilizing an NCR (nonconforming materials) process
Participating in the calibration of gages and equipment
Ensures all quality control policies, procedures, directives, and systems are in compliance with company and/or applicable federal regulations, and continually strives to increase the level of quality assurance within the facility
Any other duties assigned
Requirements:
3-5 years experience inspecting mechanical parts
Must have knowledge of inspection equipment generally found in machining, assembly and test operations
Proficient with measuring tools such as micrometers and gauges
Able to work with hardness testing equipment
Knowledge of interpreting complex geometries and drawings
Understanding of GD&T and machine shop and weld shop inspection techniques
Ability to interpret technical specifications, and quality assurance standards
Experience with Microsoft Office Programs. Strong written/verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively and prioritize jobs in a very fast-paced work environment
Ability to work independently and in a team environment to facilitate and resolve issues Documenting non-conforming material utilizing an NCR (nonconforming materials) process
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Technical School or College Knowledge of machining, NDE and quality systems
Effective utilization of CMM, with PC-DMIS is a plus
Flexible, eager to learn, accurate, analytical with positive, can-do attitude
Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills
Problem solving skills
