The Role: Buying / Supplier Development
This is not a traditional commission-based sales role. In our business,
buying and supplier development are just as critical as selling
.
You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing relationships with
mills,
manufacturers, and converters across North America within the label and adhesives industry. The role involves outbound prospecting, setting and leading meetings, running virtual calls, clearly communicating Ocean Ridge Group's value, and closing supply agreements.
While most outreach and meetings are virtual,
periodic travel across Canada and the United States is required
to visit suppliers and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and research target mills, manufacturers, and converters across North America
Execute consistent outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn
Qualify opportunities and secure meetings with decision-makers (purchasing, operations, plant leadership)
Lead virtual meetings and occasional in-person supplier visits
Clearly and professionally present Ocean Ridge Group's value proposition
Manage follow-ups, handle objections, and move conversations toward agreement
Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, and pipeline activity
Collaborate closely with the internal team to support active buying programs
What We're Looking For
Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
Strong phone presence and confidence engaging senior decision-makers
Proven sales fundamentals: listening, objection handling, disciplined follow-up
Organized, consistent, and comfortable managing a structured pipeline
Resilient and comfortable with cold outreach and rejection
Professional, reliable, and accountable
Prior B2B or inside sales experience is strongly preferred
Requirements
5+ years of sales or business development experience
Ability to work in-person at our Vaughan office (not a remote role)
Full-time availability (37.5 hours per week)
Ability to travel within Canada and the United States as required
Valid driver's license and comfort with work-related driving
Valid passport with no visa or travel restrictions for U.S. travel
Strong computer skills (email, CRM systems, video conferencing tools)
