Job Summary:
Canary Street Press and Inkyard Press (Harlequin) are seeking a Marketing Intern with a passion for
romance novels, middle grade, and young adult literature to join our team. The Virtual Intern \xe2\x80\x93 Canary
Street/Inkyard Marketing will have the opportunity to develop marketing skills in both the adult &
children\xe2\x80\x99s publishing categories. Reporting to the Inkyard Press Sr. Marketing Manager, the virtual intern
will be responsible for providing administrative support to both the Canary Street Press and Inkyard Press
marketing teams; researching marketing and social media trends; building relationships with influencers;
attending departmental meetings; and helping prepare for seasonal meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing support to the Inkyard Press Sr. Marketing Manager and Canary Street Press Marketing Manager, including:
o Researching and coordinating with YA, middle grade, and romance influencers and content creation partners
o Writing advertising, blog, and pitch copy
o Pitch and create TikTok content
o Create graphics for titles and for the brands
o Tracking and scheduling social media content
o Submitting titles to awards
o Monitoring ad performance and providing updates to the team
o Managing marketing calendar
o Updating marketing sheets and other internal presentation documents
o Attend virtual Marketing, Design, and Sales meetings

Qualifications

Specific training or job experience required includes:
  • Completion of university or college education, or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of communications
  • Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in the Canada
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively to the team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with thorough follow-up and manage time effectively
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making and prioritization skills
  • Results-driven, motivated team player who is proactive
