Overview

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication processes and possess the ability to work with various tools and equipment. This role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, performing welding tasks, and ensuring high-quality standards in all fabrication projects. The Metal Fabricator will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of high-quality metal products.

Responsibilities

Ductwork Fabrication:

Fabricate sheet metal duct fittings (rectangular, round, and specialty) from start to finish using provided blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications. Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to precise dimensions using hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery (e.g., plasma cutters, shears, brakes, rollers).

Layout & Assembly:

Perform accurate layout and fitting of components, ensuring correct angles, flange connections, seams, and joints.

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all fabricated components meet internal quality control standards. Inspect finished products for accuracy, fit, and finish before they are released for installation or delivery.

Tool & Equipment Use:

Operate and maintain fabrication equipment and tools safely and efficiently. Report any issues with tools or machinery to the shop supervisor promptly.

Collaboration & Workflow:

Coordinate with shop foremen, project managers, and installation teams to ensure timelines and production goals are met. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety guidelines.

Requirements

Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, specifically ductwork manufacturing (minimum 2-3 years preferred). Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and ductwork types (supply, return, exhaust, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details. Skilled in the use of sheet metal machinery (manual and CNC), measuring instruments, and fabrication tools. Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship in fabrication work. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
