On their behalf, we are seeking an Infrastructure Specialist to join their team. Based in St. John's, NL, (with hybrid work arrangements available), the Infrastructure Specialist plays an essential role providing tactical solutions to this busy and dynamic organization. As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance and monitoring of the administrative computing infrastructure to provide reliable, secure and available computer systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring a stable operating environment, attaining maximum utilization of system resources, and maintaining architectural integrity of the computer environment. You will perform system integration testing of operating systems, hardware/software upgrades, related utilities, network components, and personal computing devices and peripherals.

Identifying, investigating and resolving technically complex system issues and advancing the organization is accomplished because team members share and gain knowledge through a holistic and collaborative approach. The strength of this team is absolutely the sum of its parts.

Key Duties of the Infrastructure Team will include:

  • Firewall setup, installation and management
  • VMWare ESXi
  • Enterprise Mobility Management
  • Email system setup and administration
  • Microsoft Windows Server and workstation setup, installation and management
  • Tier II IT support
  • Citrix XenApp setup and administration
  • Maintaining documentation of system configurations and processes
  • Participate in a 24x7 On-Call Support Rotation
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving technically complex system problems
  • Play a technical role in the annual IT Capital Program
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 7+ years progressive information technology experience that includes responsibility in areas such as: server operating systems, firewall administration, problem analysis, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Work effectively in a team as well as possess the ability to work on your own and show initiative and innovation
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the following products would be considered an asset: Fortigate Firewalls, HCL Domino, VMWare ESXi, Citrix XenApp
  • Safety-oriented attitude
