The Couchbase Database Architect will provide the technical domain leadership required to effectively deliver high-quality, timely solutions and services that meet client\'s business needs with a focus on mobile offline capabilities utilizing sync-gateway. The Couchbase Database Architect primary focus is to plan, design, optimize, implement, and support all aspects of Client\'s Online Couchbase databases, sync-gateways and underlying operating system. The Couchbase Database Architect will ensure security and compliance within enterprise standards.
About the role-
Primarily focused on:

  • Design and Implement Couchbase database with automatic synchronization for a high load and high performing database for mobile applications for airline industry.
  • Design the Model the Server and Mobile Application and Database for mobile application.
  • Guide and Lead teams to familiarize with Couchbase database.
  • Define Data Model for Data Lake with high performance and easy management as primary considerations.
  • Design and implement synchronization with security, low latency, and performance optimized synchronization mechanism.
  • Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively addressing potential problems, physical design, and implementation of new databases environments.
  • Administering Linux servers and have experience in installing and managing DNS, Samba, Xen and other server applications.
  • Train, guide and help teams to familiarize with latest technologies in the Data Lake perspective.
  • Lead teams to implement data streams for data migration, both initial and delta.
  • Solve production problems and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
  • Study the database needs of our applications and optimize them by working with the developers.
  • Write documentation and collaborate with technical peers across the globe.
  • Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the Disney Interactive divisions (DI) database infrastructure.
  • Establish procedures for database security, backup replication recovery, and the use of database utilities.
  • Design logical and physical databases and/or propose changes to physical/logical database designs.
  • Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively addressing potential problems, physical design, and implementation of new databases environments.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the developers regarding the most complex aspects of database methodologies.
  • Develop technical specifications for the complex database applications for use by the developers.
  • Analyze the stored data and make recommendations relating to performance and efficiency of data storage.

About You\xe2\x80\x94 Experience & Technical Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) like MySQL, Couchbase etc.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud-based infrastructure and its solutions.
  • Considerable knowledge in AWS (Amazon Web Services) services like VPC, EC2, S3, ELB, AutoScalingGroups (ASG), EBS, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudFront, CloudTrail.
  • Worked on the databases of the Amazon RDS and carried out functionalities for creating instances as per the requirements. Also implemented Amazon RDS multi-AZ for automatic failover and high availability at the database tier.
  • Experienced in designing, Cluster and Capacity planning, administering and performance tuning of MySQL, Postgres DB, Mongo DB, Couchbase DB, MySQL NDB Cluster and MySQL Galera Cluster.
