This position is presently located at the St. Thomas OR Woodstock site.

This posting is for one (1) current vacancy.



This position is anticipated to extend until December 31, 2025, subject to availability of work and funding.



Southwestern Public Health is currently looking to fill one (1) student position to support the Information Technology (IT) team. This opportunity provides a chance for the successful individual to use their knowledge and skills to assist in identifying cyber security risks and vulnerabilities, participate in cyber security awareness activities and assist with policy development and Disaster Recovery Plans, while collaborating with the IT and Privacy teams to ensure compliance with internal protocols.

Essential Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cyber Security - Required. Basic Understanding of the Microsoft Cloud Admin Portals - Preferred. Basic understanding of IT systems and security principles. Strong interest in cyber security, privacy, and digital risk management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation to the Health Unit as required. A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of a judicial matters check, will be required of the successful candidate.

Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Employment Agreement.

Salary Range:

$20/hr (70 hours in a two-week period).

Will receive vacation pay each pay period.

A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPID), inclusive of a Judicial Matters Check, will be required of the successful candidate.



Immunization Requirements:

Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, are able to provide proof of immunization, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health's policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
