Southwestern Public Health is currently looking to fill one (1) student position to support the Information Technology (IT) team. This opportunity provides a chance for the successful individual to use their knowledge and skills to assist in identifying cyber security risks and vulnerabilities, participate in cyber security awareness activities and assist with policy development and Disaster Recovery Plans, while collaborating with the IT and Privacy teams to ensure compliance with internal protocols.
Essential Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cyber Security - Required.
Basic Understanding of the Microsoft Cloud Admin Portals - Preferred.
Basic understanding of IT systems and security principles.
Strong interest in cyber security, privacy, and digital risk management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Reliable transportation to the Health Unit as required.
A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of a judicial matters check, will be required of the successful candidate.
