IT Administrator Salary Range: $42.85 per hour

We are looking for an experienced IT Administrator to join our team in the Kamloops or Vancouver area!
Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, as the IT Administrator you will perform application and systems duties such as scripting, complex database development and support, complex telephone, server upgrade and patch management, network management, IT Infrastructure security and day-to-day IT support to our Open Door Group staff. In this role you will use your leadership skills to mentor and supervise volunteers and/or staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans and implements complex networking projects such as networking multiple sites, integrating multiple desktop, server, and network platforms, and installing and managing telephony systems and data networks and related systems.
Performs duties such as network and data architecture reviews, documentation, and support.
Performs scripting and programming to design, alter, customize, and test computer applications. Review, implements, tests, evaluates, and makes complex modifications to databases. Plans and implements the installation and configuration of upgrades.
Provides user?s support related to hardware, software, application programs, and complex network communications by performing duties such as diagnosing and resolving problems.
Evaluates existing and emerging information systems technology, identifies requirements, analyzes alternative products, performs cost benefit analysis, and makes recommendations. Liaises with external agencies, vendors, and user areas as required.
Develops and conducts training programs and seminars, and trains users in the operation and acceptable use of IT equipment and the use of software applications.
Develops, tests, and maintains disaster recovery procedures.
Purchase approved IT equipment in line with organizational policies. Monitors expenditures for designated areas by comparing actual and budgeted expenditures, identifying variances and anomalies, and following up on variances
Prepares and maintains a variety of documentation and reports such as procedure manuals and business cases.
Supervises volunteers and student?s IT trainees as may be delegated by the manager by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback and evaluation, orienting new IT staff.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in computer science/information Technology.
Microsoft Certification, Network certifications and Security certifications (Network +, Sec+, M365, VMware)
Recent, related experience of at least 5 years in application and system administration Or equivalent combination of specialized training and experience

Knowledge of practices and procedures related to computer equipment, networks, and software applications.
Knowledge of advanced LAN/WAN management including Virtual Private Networks
Ability to orient and train.
Ability to install, configure, operate, and maintain IT equipment, networks, and software applications.
Ability to identify, investigate, assess, document, and resolve network, software, and hardware problems.
Ability to supervise.
Ability to write and learn scripting for system automations.
Ability to plan, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate complex projects, programs, systems, and budgets.
Familiar with SharePoint, M365, VMware, firewall, Mobile device Management and End Point Management solutions
Special Conditions of Employment
Required to pass a criminal history background and/or fingerprinting.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Must have the ability to work on a computer for an extended period.
Occasional travel within Canada may be required.
