Job Title: Information Systems Business Analyst

Location: Newfoundland and Labrador (On-site)

Duration: 1 year, extended up to 3 years

The Business Analyst will be required to lead business analysis and testing, and support other areas of the systems development life cycle which includes:

  • Provide input on scope, cost and schedule of various IT projects which may vary in size and complexity
  • Lead business analysis for IT projects, which includes developing requirements plans and leading workshops with multiple business resources from different functional areas and levels within the organization (e.g, Finance, Engineering, Regulatory, and Information Systems).
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis
  • Liaise with vendors for input on functionality and costs
  • Develop business and technical requirements, including facilitation of workshops
  • Lead the development of business process and procedures, collaborating with business resources, and facilitating to consensus where possible
  • Identify and document business requirements changes and coordinate with stakeholders for input and sign off
  • Lead the testing effort, both functional and business user acceptance testing. This includes development of test strategy, test cases and test scripts, test data, etc.
  • Develop Requirements Traceability documentation- from requirements gathering through to design and testing - Coach business users in use of system and new processes
  • Conduct training sessions with business primes - Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The Consultant should have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum education level of a University Degree or equivalent College diploma with combined work experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years direct work experience in business analysis, including all aspects of requirements and testing
  • Functional knowledge of ERP and/or planning budgeting and forecasting tools and business process
  • Experience as a BA / functional resource
  • Facilitating requirements sessions, writing requirements documents and facilitating sign off (large, complex projects with many stakeholders)
  • Writing business process and procedures
  • Testing test strategy, tests cases and scripts, functional, integration and UAT Development of acceptance criteria
  • Stakeholder analysis
  • Requirements Traceability within a release and across releases, from requirements gathering through to design and testing
  • Business Change Management activities (Supporting role - provide input to Business Change lead)
  • Coaching business users in use of system and new processes
  • Participation in scoping of requirements and releases
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Functional knowledge of JDE E1 would be an asset
  • Knowledge of planning budgeting and forecasting tools and business process
  • Functional Knowledge of SharePoint 2019
  • Demonstrate political, cultural and safety awareness
  • Experience managing requirements and testing in the Utilities industry would be asset
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
