Overview

As the Information Security Architect, you are responsible for managing the process of planning, engineering, acquiring, building, modifying, and deploying security technologies to support the organization\xe2\x80\x99s business activities under the guidance of the Cyber & Information Security Officer. As a subject matter specialist, you will provide specialized technical advice and contribute to decisions on information technology policies, principles, services, standards, guidelines, and common solutions for the betterment of the organization. You are responsible for linking information technology decision-making and investments with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s technology and business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the identification of security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Conduct system security and vulnerability analysis and risk assessments, identify integration issues, and provide cost estimates.
  • Support the implementation of security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing equipment and software calibration, preparing preventive and reactive measures.
  • Provide input into corporate program and project budgets and strategic plans for corporate system releases and implementation.
  • Lead project teams as required, contributing to performance evaluations of team members.
  • Design public key infrastructures (PKIs), including the use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures, and hardware and software as mandated by MPI policies and standards.
  • Plan, design, and engineer security solutions and services by evaluating security technologies, developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related network security devices.
  • Support IT and project teams by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teaching improved processes and mentoring team members.
  • Represent the corporation amongst government and industry organizations.
Qualifications
  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in security architecture.
  • Completion of an information security management professional designations is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Security architecture experience, including designing and implementing security solutions that align with standard architecture principles and emerging technologies. This includes continuously monitoring and making improvements to those solutions in collaboration with an information security team.
  • Experience in documenting application and infrastructure architectures including modelling using standard modelling tools.
  • Experience with a variety of system development life cycles, such as sequential, iterative and agile.
