Our Manitoba-based client is seeking an experienced candidate to manage the process of planning, modifying, and deployment of security technologies to support the organization's business activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Involved in high-level structure and behavior of applications and infrastructure services used by the business processes of the organization
  • Responsible for linking information technology decision-making and investments with the organization's technology and business strategy
  • Provides specialized technical advice and contributes to decisions on information technology policies, principles, services, standards, guidelines, and common solutions
  • Help lead the overall technical solution design to help meet business objectives
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure processes and procedures are executed and risks are mitigated to acceptable levels
  • Conducts system security and vulnerability analysis and risk assessments identifies integration issues and provides cost estimates
  • Plans, designs, and engineers security solutions and services by evaluating security technologies, and developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related network security devices
  • Supports IT and project teams by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teaching improved processes, and mentoring team members
Qualifications:
  • University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science
  • 10+ years of experience in security architecture
  • Completion of one or more of the following Information security management professional designations is preferred and will also consider other information security credentials:
  • TOGAF 9 Foundation
  • SABSA Chartered Security Architect - Practitioner Certificate (SCP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with Infrastructure Architecture and Data Architecture principles
  • Successfully leads project teams by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards to help plan the delivery and implementation of security solutions
  • Ability to develop solution architectures that meet current requirements while positioning for future growth, flexibility, and trends
  • Security architecture experience, including designing and implementing security solutions that align with standard architecture principles and emerging technologies. This includes continuous monitoring and making improvements to those solutions in collaboration with an information security team
  • Experience in documenting application and infrastructure architectures including modeling using standard modeling tools
  • Experience with a variety of system development life cycles, such as sequential, iterative, and agile
  • Proven experience in consulting and engineering in the development and design of security best practices and implementation of solid security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of security considerations for cloud computing including data breaches, broken authentication, hacking, account hijacking, malicious insiders, third parties, APTs, data loss, and Denial of Service attacks
  • Advanced knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) - the framework of security policies and technologies that limit and track the access of those in an organization to sensitive technology resources
