Entera Utility Contractors is a heavy civil and high voltage construction company that has steadily grown to one of the largest electrical utility contractors in Ontario. We are currently hiring for an energetic, self-directed person to join our team as an Information & Technology Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The IT Manager reports to the Director of Operational Support Services and will work closely with all Departments within Entera to ensure cohesion and advancement of computer, mobile and networking technologies within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Management:
Supervising IT staff, providing training, and assessing performance.
IT Infrastructure Management:
Overseeing hardware, software, and network infrastructure, including extensive knowledge in Windows Server, active directory, group policy, data backups, security, and device management. Maintain IT policies and procedures to industry standards such as ITILv4 and ISO 270001.
Project Management:
Planning, coordinating, and implementing IT projects, ensuring they align with business objectives.
Strategic Planning:
Developing and implementing IT strategies, evaluating emerging technologies, and recommending solutions.
Budget Management:
Managing IT budgets and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
Problem Solving:
Troubleshooting technical issues, identifying and resolving problems, and implementing solutions.
Vendor Management:
Building and maintaining relationships with IT vendors.
Security:
Ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Communication:
Communicating IT-related information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post Secondary education from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, information technology systems, or related field
Advanced understanding of computer networks, network administration and installation
Advanced understanding of Windows programs including Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Adobe products
Advanced skills in one or more of Visual Basics, C++, Java, PHP, Perl and Android
CCNA preferred
Basic web development skills and an understanding of database concepts
Administrative and supervisory experience required
Valid G Ontario Driver's License or better
