As an Information and Privacy Lawyer, you will work in the Administrative Law section and have a significant degree of responsibility and autonomy within a team-oriented environment. Primary duties include:
Provide timely and succinct legal advice to clients on administrative law issues generally, with a primary focus on information and privacy related issues.
Work directly with members of the Information and Privacy Division of City Clerk's Office, and Corporate Security Business Unit.
Handle inquiries before the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner as well as applicable judicial reviews.
Assist with privacy complaint investigations and security incident response.
Provide timely legal advice and written legal opinions in the areas of access to information, privacy, data protection, records management, cyber security, regulatory, and related matters that may arise.
Work collaboratively with other members of Legal Services to ensure consistent approach to matters.
