Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Hepatology Nursing Opportunity

We would like YOU to join OUR team if you are a dedicated nurse able to provide clinical care, telephone advice and biologic therapy reimbursement navigation and support for our patients and Gastroenterologists in
Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo
. Can you demonstrate exceptional medical management and patient care?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
New diagnosis patient education
Taking medical history
Assessment of flares and other IBD related complications
Working patients up for starting different treatments
Educating patients about treatments prescribed
Teaching about monitoring and testing needed for chronic diseases including Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
Monitoring patients with IBD on treatment
Working closely with Patient Support Programs and Prescribers to coordinate care
Collaborating with industry partners to fund programs designed to engage and treat hepatitis C
Recommending HCV treatment regimens based on medical findings
Performing FibroScan and phlebotomy assessments
You understand the importance of the nurse-client relationship. You respond to difficult situations appropriately and consistently.
Working well as a member of an interdisciplinary team
is essential; but so is being comfortable working autonomously.
Duties
Review and process reimbursement claims for accuracy and completeness.
Utilize electronic medical records to verify patient information and insurance coverage.
Communicate with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies and obtain necessary documentation.
Maintain organized records of all reimbursement transactions and correspondence.
Qualifications
Licensed to work as a nurse in Ontario
Proficiency in electronic medical records systems is required.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to gastroenterological matters
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
