Key Responsibilities
Child-Centred Practice
Provide nurturing, responsive care that supports infants' and toddlers' emotional security, well-being, and development.
Follow individualized routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, sleep, and transitions.
Implement developmentally appropriate activities rooted in play, exploration, and sensory learning.
Promote inclusivity by adapting experiences for children with diverse abilities or developmental needs.
Health, Safety, and Licensing Compliance
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with BC licensing requirements.
Demonstrate awareness of safe sleep practices, hygiene routines, and emergency procedures.
Monitor children's health, complete required documentation, and report concerns promptly.
Family Partnerships
Build trusting, professional relationships with families through daily communication and respectful collaboration.
Provide updates on routines, developmental progress, and emerging needs.
Team Collaboration
Participate in planning, reflective practice, and team meetings with fellow educators.
Foster a supportive classroom culture where ideas are shared, challenges are solved together, and collaboration is valued.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education and ITE practice.
Qualifications
Valid
Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) Certificate
from the BC ECE Registry or currently enrolled and working toward ITE designation.
Current
ECE First Aid & CPR
certificate.
Clear
Criminal Record Check
(Vulnerable Sector).
Knowledge of BC Early Learning Framework and BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Experience working with infants and toddlers in licensed settings (preferred).
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Ability to lift and carry children safely, sit on the floor, and support daily caregiving routines.
