Members of this team will work at our Thompson Mines to ensure the mobile fleet is effectively contributing to the production profile. Team members are also involved in the development of long-term and short-term maintenance initiatives, practices and procedures.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking Industrial Welders to join our Maintenance Department in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position.As an Industrial Welder, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on a diverse fleet of mobile equipment. You will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, servicing and maintaining mobile equipment.Additionally, in this position, you will.

• Perform preventive checks according to preventive maintenance plans on Surface and Underground Mobile equipment including Loaders, Excavators, Drills, Conveyors, Haul Trucks, any other Mobile and fixed plant equipment for proper performance defects and malfunctions.
• Complete breakdown, corrective, and minor repairs.
• Inspect, examine, and test parts and equipment in order to recommend the extent and nature of the work to be done.
• Test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s specifications and the functional needs of the operations.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and components of the equipment systems.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
• Fabricate equipment, parts or components to engineered specifications.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure that work detailed on the work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
• Provide feedback improvement suggestions to the supervisor and planner and implement those that are within your ability.
• Improving equipment availability and efficiency through quality maintenance and failure analysis.

About YouEducation:

• The ideal candidate will have an Inter-Provincial Red Seal (Certificate of Qualification) as an Industrial Welder and hold a current CWB Welder Certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of industrial experience is preferred. This includes experience with:

• Ability to interpret drawings.
• Demonstrated experience operating a drill press, grinders, bandsaws and hand tools.
• Familiar with performing a risk assessment prior to beginning a job.
• Strong knowledge of the different types of welding properties as it pertains to various types of metals.
• Comfortable operating welding equipment such as electric and oxyacetylene air arc, Tig and Mig equipment to cut, blaze and weld various metals.
• Familiar with hot work, isolate, tag and test and confined space procedures
