POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Blaster to join our dynamic team at Lopes Limited. As an Industrial Painter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of our fabricated steel components through expert surface preparation and coating application.

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning and blasting as necessary.

Utilize a variety of blasting media such as steel grit, sand, and glass to remove rust, scale, and contaminants from surfaces.

Mix and maintain proper blasting media consistency and flow according to specifications.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling, storage, and disposal of blasting media and related products.

Collaborate closely with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Maintain and clean blasting equipment including nozzles, hoses, and blast pots to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial painting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Flexibility to work varied shift schedules as required. Ability to efficiently and safely operate a forklift considered an asset. Proficient in English communication and reading skills. Knowledge of Wet/Dry Mill Gauge, Replica Tape and PosiTector is an asset. NACE or SSPC training is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs/23kg regularly and up to 100lbs/45kg occasionally. Stamina to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods. Visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Pay: $18.58-$35.40 per hour
