We are looking for 1 permanent Industrial Painter/ Paint Booth Leader to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will have 5 years of relevant experience.

Industrial Painter & Paint Booth Leader



The paint booth leader supervises and coordinates all levels of painters and assists in the training of journey level and entry level painters with a hands-on approach. The candidate coordinates the daily lineup with the Operations Manager and ensures jobs are completed by the deadline and to the standards required.

Duties include:



Ensure maintenance and paint booth cleaning procedures are followed as needed and develop new procedures for ensuring a safe and clean environment. Perform industrial painting, alongside the other members of the painting team, demonstrating proper techniques and strict adherence to quality standards. Coordinate with management and purchasing in the estimation of products needed to ensure an appropriate volume of products required for planned & future work is attained and organized per customer name or job number. Train new team members as needed. Maintain equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Monitor staff adherence to safe workplace practices, including risk management issues such as workplace injury follow-up, universal precautions, and emergency procedures.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications:



A minimum of five years experience as an Industrial Painter, with a proven track record of leading teams and projects. Experience in leadership is a requirement. Strong understanding of proper painting products, specifications, techniques, and procedures required. Perform as part of an effective team, inspecting work to ensure quality standards are being met. Strong knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and proper housekeeping/ storage for product inventory. Strong understanding of cures for design, fabrication defects, and hard to reach areas with regards to surface preparation, and coatings. Assure compressed air equipment can provide required supply of clean, dry compressed air for nozzle blasting. Visually check for surface contaminants, check abrasive media for size/shape and cleanliness. Visually check blasted surfaces for specified level of cleanliness and profile. Verify document batch numbers & coating color required per paint report. Check the mixing process, ensure adherence to proper induction time. Ensure pot life is not exceeded. Check instrument calibration reports. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills. Ability to coordinate lineups and team members effectively and efficiently. Prior experience operating a lift truck and overhead crane. Overtime work will be required when necessary, including weekends. Wage is based on Experience.
