MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate need for Painters to join its team in Nova Scotia. This position is Monday-Friday (weekends as needed).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do
Application and/or removal of protective coatings
Necessary maintenance of tools and equipment
Ensure the most effective use of all equipment and materials on contract
Operate the equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer, or other protective coatings
Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items;
Clean and maintain painting and coating equipment;
Adopt safe working practices and promote safety awareness;
Inspect surfaces for contamination and complete surface preparations prior to applications;
Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Your background
1 year experience in Industrial painting
Experience in steel hand/power tool cleaning, abrasive blasting, water jetting and/or spray painting would be considered an asset
Must be living in Nova Scotia and part of the local trade union
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance.
