What you will do:
Coordinate and schedule activities within the Maintenance Department
Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other Production Departments
Research and requisition materials and supplies to order as needed
Resolve production equipment problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed
Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Read and interpret blue prints, operation and product-related reference charts and tables
Install stationary machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, saws, and conveyors
Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate defects and malfunctions
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective components
Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
Prepare, maintain, and assist in preventative maintenance programs and activities
Ensure and enforce strict adherence to company policies
Adhere to and follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures
The right candidate will have/be:
Certified Industrial Millwright or Dual Ticketed
Judgment and leadership skills
Able to work independently
Ability to take on multiple projects and multitasking skills
Strong planning and organization skills
Strong mechanical and electrical ability
Strong communication skills
Problem solving skills
Strong initiative and ability to make effective decisions
Ability to read diagrams and schematic drawings
Efficient time management
Knowledge of maintenance; plastic extrusion is preferred
Knowledge of the plastics industry is preferred
Knowledge of manufacturing processes; plastics related
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and machinery; plastics related
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience working in an industrial environment
Education:
Post-Secondary Education or Equivalent
