Summary

The Industrial Mechanic in Rakely facility plays a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our dairy manufacturing facilities. This role supports our mission to deliver high-quality dairy products by ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

As an Industrial Mechanic for Lactalis, you will be performing daily preventative maintenance on processing equipment, high-speed packaging equipment, ancillary equipment, etc. Adjustments and repairs to be performed on production equipment as the need arises.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

Complete all assigned work and accurately document completion of work Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Environmental Standards Perform tasks related to dismantling, installation, repair, and testing mechanical equipment Perform other trades practices on work assignments within ability and skill level Provide information regarding job downtime, material needs, manpower, and uptime Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department. Other duties as assigned

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:

Licensed millwright within Ontario (433 A License) Licensed Class B Driven ability to learn and perform all aspects of the job 3 to 5 years of relevant industrial manufacturing experience Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability Ability to work independently and in a team environment Capability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings Working knowledge of basic maintenance management software (SAP) would be an asset Experience with plant utilities including HVAC, boiler, chiller, and compressors would be considered an asset Must be able to work all shifts ( day, night, and afternoon, as this role will include vacation coverage. Main regular shift will be on afternoon 2.00 pm - 10.30 pm)
