Industrial Mechanic
to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and improving the mechanical systems across our glass manufacturing facilities. This is not just a maintenance job--it's a growth opportunity. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on mechanical expertise and a proactive mindset, with the ambition and capability to eventually take the lead over the maintenance of all facilities equipment.
Over time you will become the go-to expert for keeping our production equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with management to develop maintenance strategies, mentor junior technicians, and help shape the future of our plant operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
:
Perform hands-on preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including cutting tables, washers, seamers, polishers, CNC, ovens, presses, forklifts, delivery trucks, and racking systems.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Oversee and improve preventative maintenance schedule and documentation.
Conduct inspections and testing of machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Take initiative in identifying areas for mechanical improvements and system upgrades.
Support the onboarding and mentoring of future new maintenance personnel; begin stepping into a leadership role as the team grows.
Participate in capital projects involving installation or replacement of equipment.
Maintain clear, accurate maintenance records and participate in audits or inspections as needed.
Adhere to all plant safety protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification required.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear drives, conveyors, and industrial machinery.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Demonstrated leadership potential with interest in growing into a lead maintenance role.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Basic welding and fabrication skills required.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and facility safety standards.
