Additionally, McAsphalt provides comprehensive services and technology solutions, encompassing paving, testing, research and development, engineering, and consulting.Position SummaryResponsible for the general maintenance and quality of McAsphalt's production/operating machinery, motors and equipment by ensuring preventative maintenance is provided and troubleshooting problems that occur.Main Duties and Responsibilites

• Follows all McAsphalt Health and Safety policies and Procedures.
• Maintain, repair & troubleshoot production related machinery and plant equipment;
• Responds to major emergencies during and after hours as needed;
• Supports Engineering and Operations in new construction and upgrade activities;
• Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs;
• Coordinates with Maintenance Coordinator for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently;
• Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and building regulations;
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications;
• Troubleshoots problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments;
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with McAsphalt policies and procedures.
• Provides scheduled and emergency inspection, testing, lubrication on machinery and mechanical equipment;
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair;
• Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site;
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks;
• Oversees the professional development of apprentice Industrial Mechanics

Required Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate or a recognized inter-provincial equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in an industrial environment
• Ability to recognize risks to support safety in the workplace
• Organizational and time management abilities
• Experience with CMMS software a plus
• Class 5 Drivers License
