Our mission is to build a materials science company for sustainable building materials. With Trusscore's meteoric growth over the past several years, the scale and scope of new manufacturing processes and systems has expanded significantly.In this highly collaborative role as an* Industrial Engineer*, you will advance internal technical efforts with other highly skilled team members in R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing. This role will further stretch your aptitude in new system introductions, process development, continuous improvement, planning, scheduling, and communication.You will support a wide range of cross-functional technical projects aiming to:

  • Implement new manufacturing systems in multiple Trusscore manufacturing sites across North America;
  • Develop new processes to improve operational ease and efficiency; and
  • Drive new product innovations from conception to production readiness

  • Responsible for managing floor plans of all Trusscore facilities; working with other functional teams in each facility to formalize and communicate changes
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed SOPs for existing and new products as well as various manufacturing, quality and maintenance processes
  • Responsible for implementing continuous improvement projects across various functional groups and manufacturing facilities
  • Responsible for implementing and managing document control practice for design and technical documentation
  • Conduct time and motion studies of existing processes to confirm existing assumptions and identify opportunities for new projects
  • Assist in defining requirements for new projects; work with other functional groups to recognize critical paths and build tactical project plans
  • Conduct investigation with manufacturing teams of current and industry best practices to enhance capabilities across all Trusscore locations
  • Assist senior engineering team members in preparing technical reports and presentations
Skills & Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in engineering (materials, chemical, mechanical, industrial) or other STEM discipline; Eng, M.A.Sc., or other graduate degree a plus
  • 2+ years of industry experience supporting the implementation of technical projects in manufacturing setting
  • Practical experience with implementing 5S, creating floor plans and document control processes
  • Experience working and leading cross-functional initiatives in a consultative, service capacity
  • Knowledge of polymer science fundamentals and ability to understand complex multi-disciplinary problems in manufacturing capacity (i.e. chemical, electrical and mechanical)
  • Self-organizing and detail-oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and 3D design software
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Location: Palmerston preferred; Kitchener considered
  • Must be willing to split time between Kitchener and Palmerston locations (with > 2 days per week at Palmerston)
  • Hybrid work arrangements available
  • Occasional travel may be required to support operations in other facilities across North America, or for other professional reasons as necessary
