will be a key contributor to operational excellence by focusing equally on industrial maintenance (50%) and continuous improvement (CI) and special projects (50%). This role is responsible for optimizing plant performance through effective machinery maintenance, process optimization, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong experience in maintaining and improving industrial systems and equipment, supported by a solid foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering. Proven ability to lead and execute Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to enhance efficiency, productivity, and equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment is essential.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintenance (50%)
Lead and oversee all plant maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment reliability, uptime, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
Develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, leveraging maintenance data and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
Lead and execute, as applicable, maintenance planning and scheduling activities, ensuring timely execution of work orders and minimal disruption to production operations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues, working hands-on or guiding maintenance teams to achieve quick and effective resolution.
Analyze equipment performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTBF (Mean Time Between Repairs), and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) to identify failures, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimization.
Drive reliability engineering initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime, improve mean time between failures, and extend asset life.
Collaborate with equipment vendors, service providers, and contractors to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installation projects, ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards.
Maintain accountability for spare parts inventory management, ensuring critical components are available while optimizing inventory levels and costs.
Develop maintenance KPIs and performance dashboards, providing regular reporting and improvement recommendations to leadership.
Champion cost-reduction and energy-efficiency projects, targeting measurable improvements in maintenance efficiency and operational performance.
Continuous Improvement and Projects (50%)
Lead the design, execution, and sustainability of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing productivity, efficiency, and quality across operations.
Apply data-driven methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, value stream mapping) to identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Plan and manage engineering and capital improvement projects from scope development and budgeting to execution and commissioning, ensuring timely delivery and ROI realization.
Facilitate and mentor cross-functional teams in the use of Lean tools including Kaizen, 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and standard work to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to implement process automation, layout optimization, and technology upgrades that enhance throughput and reduce waste.
Lead cost reduction and productivity enhancement projects, tracking tangible benefits and reporting progress to senior management.
Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance across operations.
Train and coach maintenance technician, machine operators, production supervisors as applicable on continuous improvement principles and tools to embed a culture of operational excellence.
Monitor post-implementation results of improvement projects to verify long-term effectiveness and standardization of processes
Act as a change agent, influencing teams and stakeholders to adopt innovative and efficient work methods while aligning initiatives with strategic plant objective
Qualifications/Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
8+ years of progressive experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in maintenance and reliability functions.
Demonstrated success in leading Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
