We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Industrial Electrician / Controls Technician (Part-Time / Contract) to join our team. Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage equipment across manufacturing facilities.
Read and interpret detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system drawings such as AutoCAD files.
Maintain and calibrate sensors, vision inspection systems, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate operation.
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and CNC machinery to support manufacturing processes.
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical components, hydraulic systems, mechanical parts, and pneumatic controls to minimize downtime.
Use calibration tools like ohmmeters and multimeters for accurate diagnostics of electrical circuits.
Support field service activities by diagnosing issues on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly.
Assist in the development of schematics for new installations or modifications using AutoCAD or similar software.
Ensure compliance with safety standards including high voltage protocols while maintaining a safe working environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, troubleshoot complex issues involving sensors or vision inspection systems, and support manufacturing excellence initiatives.
Document maintenance activities accurately in logs and reports to track system health and facilitate future troubleshooting efforts.
Skills
Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in industrial maintenance and controls.
Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and precision measurement tools.
Skilled in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation; proficiency with AutoCAD is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), Calypso software (or similar), and vision inspection systems.
Familiarity with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems; understanding of safety procedures related to high voltage work is essential.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters or field meters in diverse environments including manufacturing settings.
Knowledge of CNC machinery operation, calibration procedures, sensors integration, and industrial automation technologies.
Experience working with military-grade equipment or standards is a plus but not required.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
