Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a

Coordinator, Indigenous Relations

to work out of our Wabasca Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for local communities. This role also represents Alberta-Pacific at designated community events as well as other community engagement initiatives.

This role requires occasional travel to other communities and Al-Pac's mill site offices.

Role Responsibilities



Establish, engage and collaborate with various rural, First Nations and Metis communities. Develop and maintain an understanding of Indigenous communities within and around the Al-Pac Forest Management Area. Engage with local communities and ensure the needs of Indigenous communities are well understood within Al-Pac. Collaborate with other business areas to ensure alignment to organization priorities and provide regular updates to the Indigenous Relations team. Support the coordination and facilitation of meetings, internally and externally, develop meeting agendas and take/prepare meeting minutes. Plan and coordinate community and company events. Ensure documentation requirements are met. Implement KPIs and communicate status updates and reporting to the leadership team. Collect, document and track requests from Indigenous communities. Support preparation of documents using a variety of computer applications and tools, research, gather and summarize information and data, and develop reports, briefings, presentations and information packages

Role Requirements



High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge of First Nation(s) and Metis communities Knowledge of Forestry Operations considered an asset Knowledge of Cree language considered an asset

Understanding of stakeholder engagement best practices. Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, rapport and relationship building and maintaining connections. Ability to write, present and communicate in a professional, clear, persuasive and organized manner for diverse audiences. Ability to engage with stakeholders and the public with professionalism, tact, discretion, good judgement and trust. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage private, sensitive, and confidential information appropriately. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage activities efficiently to meet business objectives Strong facilitation skills. Comfort with travelling for work.
