Job Description


The Indigenous Coordinator will be a Key Individual in implementing the terms contained within the Indigenous Participation Plan consistent with the Project Agreement. The Indigenous Coordinator works very closely with the Indigenous Groups and different stakeholders to advance Indigenous participation on a specific Project.\xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous Groups on the Project, particularly as it relates to cultural, employment and commercial opportunities.\xc2\xb7 Administer and manage day-to-day implementation of the Indigenous Participation Plan.\xc2\xb7 Track and report on implementation of the Project Indigenous Requirements.\xc2\xb7 Prepare reports for internal and external audiences outlining progress with the Indigenous communities consistent with the Indigenous Participation Plan.\xc2\xb7 Update the Indigenous Participation Plan with input from Indigenous Groups.\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement training and opportunities for the Indigenous Groups.\xc2\xb7 Comply with and promote Health & Safety rules and protocols as applicable.\xc2\xb7 Other duties as required.\xc2\xb7 Problem solving - the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.\xc2\xb7 Interpersonal skills - the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others\' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.\xc2\xb7 Oral communication - the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrates group presentation skills.\xc2\xb7 Written communication - the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.\xc2\xb7 Individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.\xc2\xb7 Adaptability - the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.Dependability - the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual\'s status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation.
