Manpower is currently seeking an Indigenous Relations Advisor III for a 1-year contract opportunity, with multinational pipeline and energy client located in Fort Simpson, NWT.

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 1 year contract
What will you be doing?
  • Develop and implement strategic engagement with key stakeholders & Indigenous communities for Major Projects and Operations
  • Key stakeholders/rights holders include local government officials, Indigenous groups, influential business leaders, emergency responders and non-government organizations.
  • Maintain, cultivate, and document relationships and engagement activities with Indigenous communities, local communities, and organizations
  • Contribute to regional engagement knowledge in support of Corporate Citizenship Investment policies and governance
  • Establishes relationships with relevant businesses or economic development leads for Indigenous communities, maintains current information for businesses in region
  • Develops and implements Indigenous economic engagement plans for Projects and operations in the region, including providing input into the SCM process.
What will you bring?
  • University degree from a related post-secondary program.
  • work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement
  • In-depth knowledge and direct experience in engaging with Indigenous communities in the Northwest Territories
  • Familiarity with applicable government and regulatory requirements, as well as present day issues and community dynamics
  • Preference may be given to an inclusive professional knowledgeable of Indigenous culture, traditions, values, perspectives, and experience
  • Proven written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational abilities
  • Strong social skills, including consultation, negotiation, facilitation, risk communication and conflict resolution
