Are you a seasoned manager with experience in developing, implementing policy objectives within a not-for-profit organization? Are you a practiced instructor with the ability to engage your audience, while communicating your message? Do you have a firm understanding of Indigenous communities, issues, values, and traditions? If so, then our client wants to hear from you.

This exciting, senior position is responsible for the development, implementation of organisations policy objectives. The successful candidate will not only understand but have the ability to build relationships through positive communications with key stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is organized, well-written, detail orientated and has experience in policy management.

  • You\xe2\x80\x99ve completed your Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in public policy, public management or related field.
  • You have 3-5 years of not-for-profit experience.
  • You have a solid 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 senior management experience and 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in program management.
  • You have a strong understanding and awareness of Indigenous culture. (First Nations, Inuit, and M\xc3\xa9tis)
  • Your knowledge of Indigenous community needs, solutions, and trends is a strength
  • You are familiar with and understand the requirements of Ontario not-for-profit Governance, Boards, and Bylaws
  • As someone familiar with facilitation, you engage participants in presentations using a variety of delivery methods.
  • You enjoy communicating with others and have excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • You are both well written and have superior verbal English skills.
  • Travelling approximately 4 days a month is no problem for you. You may be required to work evenings and weekends to attend meetings and special functions.
  • You are confident in using Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You have a Drivers\xe2\x80\x99 Licence.
  • If you have experience working in or with the Indigenous community, we\xe2\x80\x99d love to hear about it, as this is a MUST for the role.
  • Oh yeah, of course, you must also be legally able to work in Canada and able to pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerability Sector check.
