Overview:
We are currently looking for an
Inclusion Support Worker
for our 26-year-old family member (female) to provide personal support and support her to be a valued, contributing member of the community. We are looking for someone who will:

Key Responsibilities:
Support communication
- understand the importance of being heard and having choice. Support the use of technology for communication and
Connecting to community
- help identify both interests as well as the contributory role(s) in community. Support engagement and participation in a wide range of activities.
Support personal care
- assist with dressing, feeding and toileting and other personal care with a focus on building independence.
Contribute to her shared apartment space
- help with light housework, wash and meal prep.
Accountabilities:
Communication:
Build strong and respectful relationships with the individual and their family. Communicate in a professional manner and document necessary information and communicate with others on the individual's team.
Confidentiality
: maintain confidentiality at all times
Interaction:
Interact in a non-intrusive, image enhancing and age appropriate manner.
Safety:
Be aware of the individual'sphysical, social and recreational environments, and taking action to minimize risks and maximize inclusion
Advocate:
advocate on behalf of the person when necessary
Qualifications and Requirements:
The ability to be able to do lifts and transfers (height 5 feet, weight 70 lbs)
A steadfast belief and commitment to inclusion, the right for all people to belong, participate and contribute to the community
The ability to work independently in unstructured environments and to employ effective time management skills
The knowledge of and ability to demonstrate and support the development of skills (coaching)
Knowledge of community resources available to support her participation and inclusion within their community
First Aid and CPR certification
Criminal Record Check complete with a vulnerable sector check
A driver's license
