Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Manager and Executive Director, the Early Years Inclusion Support Worker will provide direct inclusive support for a child in our program with ASD, cognitive, and language delays. This employee will be a collaborative part of our team and ensure activities and opportunities are adapted to suit the needs of the child. This employee will uphold the philosophy and mission of Arbutus Grove Children's Centre (AGCC).

We are looking for a positive, reflective, creative, and reliable Inclusive Support Worker to join our growing team of dedicated, passionate, and professional Educators. We are located in the beautiful Cadboro Bay neighborhood, close to UVIC and bus routes. We operate out of a large, purpose built, child care facility, with an art room, music room and play room, all on a 1.4 acre site surrounded by forest, beaches and nature.

Contract Dates:

Immediately - August 15, 2025. Possibility to shift to School Age SCD contract for September 2025 - June 2026

Wage:

$24/hour. If applicant has valid ECE, an additional $6/hour Wage Enhancement will be added to rate of pay

Hours of work:

25 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8am - 1pm. Can be flexible with 3 - 5 days per week; School Age SCD contract is Monday - Friday 2:15pm - 5:30pm

Qualifications

? Ideal: Valid BC License to Practice as Early Childhood Educator with Special Needs certificate; however, this position is open to all ECE, ECEA or RA - training will be provided

? An acceptable criminal record check

? Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification

? Previous child care experience in a licensed facility

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff

? Passionate, creative, and positive attitude when working with all children and staff

? Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with our team



? Provide one-on-one supervision and care in a stimulating and supportive environment

? Establish and maintain collaborative, supportive relationships with parent, guardians, and SCD consultant

? Ability to provide child with sensory balanced activities

? Ability to follow approved Care Plan including goals, strategies and safety plan

? Assist child as needed with supervision, eating, toileting, communication, etc

? Plan and implement routines that are flexible and responsive to the needs of the child. Provide opportunities for a balance of active/quiet and indoor/outdoor experiences

? Follow the Centre's procedures for maintaining health records, administering

medication and first aid

? Ability to lift up to 40-pound child, if necessary

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
