Go-Go is hiring an Inclusion Support Worker for our Fredericton \xe2\x80\x93 Northside location. We are proud to offer a fun & educational After School Program that services hundreds of children in the Fredericton area between the ages of 5 - 12 years old. We take pride in ensuring our programs keep kids active - both physically and mentally; allow them the opportunity to discover and explore their own interest; all within a safe, enthusiastic, and upbeat environment. The Inclusion Support Worker will play an essential role in an individual child\'s learning and growth, including physical and social development in a safe and child-centered environment. They will build a relationship with the child and their family to better understand their specific needs in order to plan effective strategies. In this role, the Inclusion Support Worker will work closely with a child with medical needs. The staff would be responsible for closely monitoring and encouraging safe play so as to not dislodge the child\'s tracheostomy tube, clearing it if it became clogged and replacing it if it fell out. You are not phased when things do not go according to plan. You quickly respond to the situation at hand and handle it with a smile. If you are confident, quick thinking and our dynamic work environment inspires you, this could be a wonderful opportunity for us both This role has the following hours: 1:30PM-5:30PM (approx) Monday through Friday (20 hours per week) during the school year 9:00AM-4:30PM (approx) Monday through Friday (35 hours per week) during December camp and March break. Necessary Skills: \xc2\xb7 Must be well organized and be able to follow a schedule. \xc2\xb7 Experience with managing challenging behaviour and setting boundaries. \xc2\xb7 Experience in a healthcare/medical setting or managing medical needs is considered an asset. Previous childcare experience (after school, babysitting, coaching, etc.) is considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Possesses a keen sense of responsibility with the ability to fix mistakes when needed. \xc2\xb7 Good communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to listen carefully, speak clearly, and remain calm with parents, staff, and children. \xc2\xb7 Patience and an excellent sense of humor are key. \xc2\xb7 Shares Go-Go\xe2\x80\x99s philosophy of treating children with respect and dignity: Always taking the time to carefully listen to them. \xc2\xb7 Will assist with bathroom routine/personal care as needed. Requirements upon Offer: \xc2\xb7 Valid Workplace First Aid with CPR C and AED certification. \xc2\xb7 Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance. \xc2\xb7 Clear Social Development Check. -Completion of the Tools for Inclusion Webinars Job Type: Part-time Salary: This is a government funded position, with a fixed wage that will depend on qualifications. Effective August 1st, the wage breakdown will be as follows: Entry Level ($16.90/hour) - Candidate does not hold a relevant University Degree, Early Childhood Education certificate or equivalent. Level 1 ($23.47/hour) - Candidate holds an Early Childhood Education certificate/diploma or relevant completed university degree. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22 per week Salary: $16.00-$23.47 per hour Schedule:
