Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Provincial Immunization Consultant provides an expert level of advice to support and coordinate consistent and quality practice across the public health system related to publicly funded vaccine use, storage and transport. The Provincial Immunization Consultant liaises with the Department of Health and Wellness to ensure biologics depot operations align with Provincial strategic direction for publicly funded vaccine. Working with zone biologics depot staff, the Provincial Immunization Consultant provides information regarding vaccine distribution, cold chain practices, eligibility requirements for publicly funded vaccine, and inventory monitoring. The Provincial Immunization consultant works with vendors to ensure equipment maintenance of vaccine storage equipment is completed and contracts maintained. The Provincial Immunization Consultant is responsible for reporting to DHW regarding vaccine inventory, vaccine usage and wastage for financial monitoring purposes. The incumbent provides recommendations to the manager on quality improvement initiatives, work practice changes and workforce distribution to optimize efficiency. The Provincial Immunization Consultant works with zone health protection leadership in the development of standard operating procedures to support best practices related to vaccine storage, handling, distribution and transport.In addition to supporting zone public health staff, the Provincial Immunization Consultant provides information and guidance to health care providers who offer publicly funded immunization across the province. Guidance may include proper cold chain practices, vaccine ordering and inventory practices, publicly funded vaccine eligibility, and high-risk vaccine programs.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing; public health, or pharmacy required. Preferred Master degree in a related area (Public Health, Public or Health Services Administration, Business Administration)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Public Health environment, with experience in immunization programs and project coordination/management
  • Knowledge and understanding of immunization issues, practices and principles in a Public Health setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, community partners and government agencies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an emphasis on documentation Excellent analytical skills, particularly process and service delivery analysis.

  • Strong computer skills in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience supervising unionized staff
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid Driver\'s License required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
