Scope
The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) supports its more than 85 member countries in advancing their sustainable development goals through effective laws, policies, and regulations for the mining sector.
The IGF will launch a Mining Academy to professionalize and scale up mining skills development through a suite of world-class national and regional training programs, an e-learning platform, and a global network of academic institutions, researchers, and mining professionals. This initiative builds on IGF's regular on-demand capacity-building activities to offer a long-term, structured, and collaborative approach to building institutional and professional excellence in mining governance. It will foster a vibrant community of practice and a research and innovation hub, ensuring lasting and institutional capacity and driving forward sustainable and inclusive mining governance. The Coordinator will support the initiative and coordinate the project with internal and external stakeholders.
