to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our hygiene department, optimizing patient flow, and ensuring an outstanding patient experience.

Position Overview



The Hygiene Care Coordinator plays a key role in managing the daily operations of the hygiene schedule, supporting patients with their ongoing oral health maintenance, and ensuring smooth communication between patients, hygienists, and the dental team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Patient Scheduling & Coordination



Manage and optimize the hygiene schedule to ensure efficiency and reduce gaps or cancellations. Confirm, reschedule, and follow up on hygiene appointments. Coordinate re-care and recall systems to ensure patients are seen on appropriate intervals. Contact patients for overdue cleanings and maintain strong patient retention.

Patient Experience & Communication



Welcome and assist patients in person, by phone, and via email with professionalism and warmth. Educate patients on the importance of preventive care and recommended hygiene treatment plans. Communicate effectively with hygienists and dentists to relay patient concerns and clinical information. Provide support to patients regarding insurance coverage and estimated treatment costs.

Administrative & Office Support



Maintain accurate patient records, notes, and scheduling documentation. Process hygiene-related billing, insurance submissions, and payments. Track and monitor key hygiene metrics (production, re-care compliance, cancellations). Assist the front desk team with general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a dental office or medical administrative role preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, hygiene procedures, and insurance plans is an asset. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Proficient with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Cleardent, Tracker, etc.). Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work in a team environment. A friendly, positive attitude and commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
