YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Environmental and sustainability Superintendent, you will be part of the Environmental and Sustainability department. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.
Design and implement surface water monitoring programs (e.g., flow, precipitation, runoff)
Support site-wide water balance assessments and stormwater management planning
Monitor and report on water quality and quantity across operational areas
Develop and maintain hydrological models using tools such as HEC-HMS, SWMM, or GoldSim
Conduct predictive modeling to support mine planning, tailings management, and closure scenarios
Analyze climate and hydrometric data to assess seasonal and long-term water trends
Ensure compliance with water-related permits and environmental regulations
Prepare technical reports and submissions for regulatory agencies
Support environmental audits and inspections related to water systems
Work closely with hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers, and environmental scientists
Communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders
Contribute to environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's or master's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hydrology, preferably in mining or industrial settings
Proficiency in hydrological modeling software and GIS tools
Strong understanding of Canadian water regulations and permitting processes
Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
Ability to work in remote environments and adapt to field condition
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 5 days of work followed by 2 days off, with 4 days of work followed by 3 days off at Detour Lake Mine.
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
