Starks Plumbing & Heating Ltd. is a local, family-owned mechanical contracting company specializing in commercial and industrial projects. We provide expert services in plumbing, gas-fitting, sheet metal, HVAC, electrical, deep utility, and refrigeration.

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable

HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice

to join our team, where you will learn on the job alongside a Journeyman technician and develop your skills in a growing industry.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and sheet metal components--including make-up air systems, ventilation ducting, and ductwork fabrication--in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Support Journeyman technicians by reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to learn accurate layout and installation requirements. Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment to support daily operations and site readiness. Follow safe and efficient installation practices under the guidance and supervision of experienced technicians. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and team members to contribute to meeting project timelines and quality standards. Represent the company professionally on job sites, maintaining a positive attitude and respectful interaction with clients and colleagues. Comply with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards while safely handling tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma (Grade 12) required. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. Self-motivated and quick learner with strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail and proficiency in safely handling basic hand tools, materials, and equipment. Demonstrates high workmanship and diligence appropriate to experience level. Possesses the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Professional attitude with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and accountability. Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working in varying site conditions.
