Transportation Refrigeration Technician Journeyman
HRAC Journeyman
OVERVIEW:
Perform mechanical Heating, Air Conditioning, Cab Filtration/Pressurization, Manufacturing, Assembly, Install, Troubleshooting and Repair tasks within the scope of Polar's product offering of service and parts.
Always wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job/task you're performing.
Inventory Management and Control of Polar Service Vehicles.
Vehicle Inspections ensuring safety equipment is in working order.
Ensure compliance with company and industry policies and procedures.
- Including performing FLHA (Field Level Hazard Assessments) at every job site
other than Polar shops. Make Safety a priority.
Increase the overall productivity of the branch by working diligently and accurately without risking safety.
Maintain positive relationships with current customers by being polite and properly communicating with customers, Service Supervisors and Service Managers.
Be responsible for Apprentices and Helpers working in and around you with a focus on safety.
Maintain a clean drivers abstract. Avoid losing drivers license for any reason.
Reports and follows directions to and from the Service Supervisor/Manager.
ROLE:
Journeyperson Technicians are the tip of the sword, the face of the company. Journeyperson Technicians must always be positive and look for ways to set a positive example.
Work with and supports Service Supervisor/Manager to:
- Train and Develop Apprentices and Helpers.
- Ensure accurate invoicing of jobs and Polar vehicle parts accounting.
- Be ready to report incidents or near misses to Service Supervisor/Manager.
- Place an emphasis on safety and job efficiency.
Work with and supports Sales Department to:
- Maintain relationship with current customers.
- Always communicate positively with customers.
- Sell Polar Parts, unless it's absolutely necessary to purchase OEM parts.
- Increase customer base by having great communication with customers.
Works with and supports Office Support Staff:
- Write clear invoices. Account for all parts on work orders.
- Customer Greeting. When you arrive at site be sure to introduce yourself in a positive upbeat manner.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to work independently as well in a team.
Eager to teach apprentices.
Mechanically adept and inclined.
A keen eye for quality workmanship.
Able to use computers for diagnosis and reporting.
Decent hand printing skills.
Able to take responsibility for quality work for journeyperson as well as apprentices.
SUMMARY: The Journeyperson Technician is relied upon to provide excellent customer service, both in the field and in Polar shops. The Journeyperson Technician should set a positive example, especially for Apprentices and Helpers working with them. Safety should be a priority while maintaining efficient work practices.

Pay: $22.00-$37.00 per hour
