As a certified HVAC Journeyperson specializing in refrigeration and air conditioning, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial, commercial, HVAC systems. This includes refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and related components.

Key Responsibilities:



Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including: Central and standalone air conditioning units Heat pumps and VRF systems Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on HVAC and refrigeration systems. Diagnose system issues and perform necessary adjustments, cleaning, or part replacements. Conduct leak checks and calibrate pneumatic and electronic controls. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and refrigerant usage. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations. Collaborate with other trades (e.g., plumbing, gas fitting) as needed. Operate service vehicles and maintain inventory of tools and materials.

Qualifications:



Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (or equivalent recognized by Alberta AIT). Minimum 5 years of journeyperson-level experience. Strong knowledge of HVAC codes, safety practices, and refrigerant handling. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals. Familiarity with ammonia and freon systems is an asset.

Work Conditions:



May work in various environments including, commercial, and industrial settings. Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces. May require , on-call availability, town work within Edmonton.
